Panther makes a splash with Smart Water

Panther Security, the largest independent installer of intruder alarms in East Anglia, continues to widen the portfolio of products it can offer to its commercial and residential. Panther are pleased to announce that they are now authorised installers for Smartwater.

Smart Water provides valuable property with an unprecedented degree of identification, so powerful in fact it has been likened to 'DNA' profiling. It is a clear, water based solution which is simply painted on. Each brushstroke contains millions of microscopic particles encoded with the owners details. When dry SmartWater Instant is virtually undetectable under normal lighting.

To detect if an item of property has been marked, the Police use an Ultra-Violet light to locate the Instant and conduct a simple on-site test to locate the unique SmartWater Identification Number (SIN).

For more details about the range of Smart Water products that Panther can offer you, please contact Martin Goodyer.

Cat burglar collared by MP

North Essex MP Bernard Jenkin collared a cat burglar when he was invited to celebrate the £30,000 refit of Panther Security’s Colchester premises.

Just as he was about to cut a ribbon to mark the modernisation of the offices on the Peartree Industrial estate, ‘Burglar Belle’ leapt into action, hoping to get her claws into the action.

Mr Jenkin said: “It came as quite a shock but I bravely managed to capture the intruder, who spent the rest of the afternoon in the dog house!”

Panther Security’s Managing Director Don Henshall presented Mr Jenkin with a £100 donation for a charity of his choice, which the MP has decided to donate to St Helena Hospice.

Panther, which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary, is now the largest independent installer of intruder alarms in East Anglia, employing around 20 people.

Panther pounces on new contracts

A Colchester-based security company has been awarded a series of important contracts to help keep the county safe.

Panther Security, based on the Peartree Industrial Estate, has recently installed CCTV cameras and/or burglar alarms at both Anglia Polytechnic University and the University of Essex, as well as at Colchester General Hospital, Colchester United and for numerous local authorities, schools, refuse sites and other organisations.

Additionally, the company has seen a surge of interest in its burglar alarms, particularly from house builders, such as at Beaulieu Park in Chelmsford. The PowerMax security system, produced by Visonic Ltd, is wire free and can even turn lights on and off, keep an eye on elderly inhabitants and let you know when your child has returned from school.

Panther Security’s Managing Director Don Henshall said: “We have had an amazing start to the year, with interest not just in burglar alarms and CCTV but also in door entry systems. As far as crime is concerned, prevention is always better than cure.”

Panther, which has just celebrated its tenth anniversary, is now the largest independent installer of intruder alarms in East Anglia, employing around 20 people.

While specialising in serving the A12 corridor, Panther also has clients from Newcastle to the Isle of Wight, and from the West Midlands to Great Yarmouth. It has recently had interest from a firm in Denmark, who found the company on the internet, at www.panthersecurity.co.uk

Panther keeps its eye on the ball – and the crowd

Panther Security has teamed up with Colchester United to improve crowd control measures at the Layer Road ground. Three new state-of-the-art Closed Circuit Television Cameras have been installed, to enhance the club’s existing security measures.

The new system, partly paid for by a grant from the Football Trust, will enable camera operators to zoom in more quickly on any troublemakers and see their faces in detail.

Sales Manager Martin Goodyer at Panther Security said: “These cameras really do keep a close eye on the crowd. They can turn almost a full 360 degrees in milliseconds and be in focus immediately.”

The club’s Commercial Manager Jerry Carter said: “Safety and security is vital during a match and our new CCTV system will enable us to operate efficiently and professionally.”
