COMPANY HISTORY

Panther Security was established in May 1990 from home by Don Henshall - a former Detective Sergeant with the Police Force. His vision was to build the leading independent security company in East Anglia, providing the highest quality, most cost-effective security systems for residential and commercial premises backed with expert customer service and maintenance.

With only one member of staff, this family business set out with the immediate goals of gaining prestigious NACOSS accreditation and building their client base.

Ambition, hard work and determination paid off with the NACOSS accreditation achieved within three short years. ISO 9002 certification followed in only 18 months. In 1995, Panther moved into commercial premises at Lexden House, Colchester, to cope with the success and rapid expansion.

1996 saw further expansion with the purchase of Safe and Sound Security in Chelmsford (another NACOSS accredited security company), thereby giving Panther a presence in mid-Essex. Indeed, Panther is continually on the look-out for appropriate security companies or contracts to purchase.

After a continued period of growth that saw client numbers spiral and staff numbers increase to 22, Panther bought the freehold to their larger, prestigious premises at the Peartree Business Centre, Stanway in 1999.

By this stage, Panther was the largest independent and most successful independent security company in the Colchester area, an achievement that was reinforced when Panther purchased Crime Cure. The purchase of this NACOSS-approved alarm installation company in Ipswich further strengthening Panther's presence in East Anglia. The accolades look set to continue with Investors In People status gained in December 2002 and BSIA accreditation.

Don Henshall - Chief Executive Officer

Don founded Panther Security from his home in 1990. His vast experience and knowledge of security and crime issues stem from the many years spent in the Police Force where he was Detective Sergeant. His enthusiasm and motivational skills have been the driving force in creating one of the leading independent security companies in East Anglia. Don is responsible for overall guidance of Panther to greater achievements, but he still takes time to monitor the day-to-day running of the company.

He has worked at all levels of responsibility, from the bottom to the top, giving him a unique perspective on all elements of running a security systems company.

Martin is responsible for Panther's sales and marketing activities, which are among the most enviable in this industry. With over 19 years experience, Martin has an intimate knowledge of the marketplace and customer's requirements. GEOGRAPHICAL SCOPE

Although Panther's core market can be considered to be the A12 corridor through Essex and Suffolk, major contracts with national companies take them throughout the UK. For example, Panther has been employed by the David Wilson Homes and Spicer Haart to fit systems across the UK. Wimpey Homes retains Panther's services for NE/SE London, Kent, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk. Furthermore, one client was so impressed with Panther that they flew them to different ends of country to fit systems for family members in Newcastle and the Isle of Wight.
